Business News IWC Launches New Website Complete With E-Commerce Platform

It’s no secret that the watch industry is moving in the direction of a much expanded Internet presence, with a number of luxury brands (such as Panerai, Cartier, Montblanc, and Jaeger-LeCoultre) building out e-commerce platforms on their company websites. You also may have noticed that Net-a-Porter and Mr. Porter have both been retailing luxury timepieces from the likes of Cartier, IWC, and Ressence since late last year, which is no coincidence. As you may recall, Richemont has been some form of shareholder (it has fluctuated over the years) in Net-a-Porter since 2010. That right there should have been a sign of things to come, which bring me to today’s announcement: IWC has relaunched their website and, drumroll please, it includes an e-commerce platform.
